Project Background

Envision Group is a world-leading Greentech company based in China. With the mission of ‘solving the challenges for a sustainable future, Envision designs, sells, and operates smart wind turbines through Envision Energy. In 2019, Envision Energy has been awarded two government tenders by the Power Division to set up wind power plants on a build-own-operate basis in the next two to three years at two locations in Bangladesh. One of those locations is Mongla, Khulna.

Project Description

For any wind farm development project, sufficient data on the exact site needs to be collected for a period of at least one year. These data are analyzed to perform wind energy modeling. Thus, a 120-meter MET tower was set up by GREL, and instruments were fitted at different levels of the tower. The factors being measured are wind speed at 7 different levels, wind direction at two different levels, air temperature & humidity, and biometric pressure.
